In July 2026, LNETT AS received a concession to replace the 50 kV oil cables between Tjensvoll and Ullandhaug transformer stations in Stavanger — a significant infrastructure upgrade allowing the removal of aging oil-filled cable infrastructure. The case had progressed through the formal application stage in early July before being granted on 14 July 2026. Notably, the large 132 kV Strand–Finnøy–Nordbø project (estimated at 800 MNOK) has been withdrawn or lapsed, signaling a possible reprioritization of that investment.
