Overview

The municipality shows exceptional energy development activity with 32 total projects spanning grid modernization, data center expansion, and renewable energy. Statnett's major 420kV transmission upgrades at Langerud position Vestby as a critical grid node, while Microsoft, Green Mountain, and other tech companies have secured nearly 1GW of data center capacity at Tegneby. Solar developers have also established a strong presence with 63MW of projects in the pipeline.

Recent Activity

ELVIA AS received concession approval for Tegneby switching station on May 6, 2026, supporting the ongoing grid infrastructure expansion to accommodate growing data center demand.
